MozCamp Asia 2011 and Journey To Kuala Lumpur

Terima kasih, Mozilla.
Terima kasih, Malaysia.
Ini perjalanan yang sangat luar biasa.

Update (English translation):
Two weeks ago, I was given the opportunity to attend the biennial event Mozillians the first time held in Asia, Asia MozCamp 2011. Previously, MozCamp only held in continental Europe. A week before MozCamp Asia, Europe MozCamp Mozilla also held in Berlin. For MozCamp Asia this year, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia was appointed as the host.

From the Mozilla Community Indonesia, there are 11 people who were invited to attend this event, however, only 10 people can attend, including me, Viking Karwur, Yofie Setiawan, Irayani Queencyputri, Benny Chandra, Finan Akbar, Artanto Ishaam, Ademas Pramuatmadja, Andi Darmawan, and Jemmy Novy. Rizqinova, ID-Mozilla Regional Leader for Yogyakarta, could not attend because of his sudden illness. Ahead of D-day of departure and the events, the noise occurs on the mailing list # idmoz about airline tickets that never shipped. A bit silly but still funny looking to commentary among friends who have not and already got the ticket. Hahaha!

Of all groups, only my own departing from Bandung. The rest departed from Jakarta (CKG). This is my first time to take care of all matters preparatory to departure abroad independently, from the start storing luggage, airport taxes of up to successfully enter the plane. The journey from Bandung to Kuala Lumpur is quite smooth without delay the departure of the very disturbing. The view from the plane was still the same as other aircraft, land on a cloud.

Arrived at KL-LCCT, I met with the group from Jakarta who were affected by the delay, so that ought to go first, even a thin margin a few minutes. Next, I boarded the bus transit to the Salak High to KLIA Transit ride to KL Sentral. Arriving at KL Sentral, I and my friends chose to come to McD first for fullfilling our hungry stomach. What makes difference between McD in KL and in Bandung is only on chili sauce. Hahahaha! Then, we board to the Ampang Park LRT. This is the first time I boarded the train in the city of superfast, to the extent that nearly crashed because of lack of balance. Arriving at Ampang Park station, just a few meters walk we arrived at the hotel.

In the evening, there was an informal dinner session with the Mozillian. There I met Mary Colvig, Gen Kanai, Mitchell Baker, Arky, William Quiveiger, the other volunteers and paid staff. The next day, on the first day opened with a keynote session MozCamp by Mitchell Baker and the community session with the introductions of each country. For Indonesia, represented by Viking Karwur as Mozilla Indonesia Community – “Manager” (thanks to Uncle Ben for the correction). Furthermore, many sessions and classes presented and so did the second day.

In the evening on the first day, we all attended a dinner at Restaurant Raja Melayu and then a walk to KLCC, Petronas Twin Tower. I also take pictures along with Mitchell Baker in there. : D

In the evening on the second day, we were all invited to the streets of Malaysia to eat with Mozilla really late at night. Kuala Lumpur quite make me sweaty in the evening.

On the third day, we bought souvenirs in Pasar Seni and ride Hop On-Hop Off Bus. After that, I’m racing off to the airport to fly to Bandung and Thanks God, I can safely go back to Bandung.

Thank you, Mozilla.
Thank you, Malaysia.
For this extraordinary journey.
